Well Wednesday
Currently, on the exact opposite side of us, we are frightfully close to the Green Fire that is now over 15,000 acres and directly across the Pit River. Normally, every morning, I would be outside walking or working out, but the wind direction over the last twelve hours has me seeking refuge indoors with my air purifier.
Over the last year, I’ve been undergoing a beautiful metamorphosis and have seen, once again, how miraculous our physical bodies are. It’s incredible what the body can hold and transmute, or what it can hold and take on. A year ago, I got the flu and bronchitis, and my body shut down on so many deep levels, physically and spiritually. I was, for the most part, physically immobile and in so much pain for about eight months. After my vigorous self-care and listening to my body, I’ve been able to heal it, and I’m amazed at how fast my physical strength and speed are returning. (I went into detail on my condition on my Instagram page if you want to hear the whole story.) The biggest takeaway for me was that it wasn’t one remedy or even one cause/symptom, but how similar my healing journey felt to this spiritual ascension period that we are experiencing during this massive awakening. Similar to a video game or leveling up out of the matrix, I was also leveling up out of illness or releasing low-frequency cells in my system.
Today I feel so healthy with minimal to no body aches, and I even did a slow jog last week. Not that I’m a runner anymore, but not being able to walk normally will make you see your body as the gift that it is when you achieve new milestones. Since my training is being halted slightly due to the smoke, I thought I would share what I’m doing to support my body ( my liver especially) as it breaks down the pollutants that I’m breathing in from this wildfire.
I always pay close attention to supporting my liver year round because if this “filter:” gets clogged, the body starts to malfunction and it creates an imbalance that if not addressed could lead to numerous issues. So castor oil packs, lemon and olive oil shots, massage and lymph opening work are some of the things I do consistently year round.
wildfire well-ness
the Big 6: lymph opener: this has been a morning must for the past year because of the high inflammation I was experiencing. I immediately started noticing a huge difference when I supported the lymphatic system, which is our body’s drainage system that moves toxins, fluids out and around your body.
This video from stop chasing pain is short, sweet, and helpful
I always do a 2-5 minute jump on my trampoline to get the flow going.
the tea: I was never really a tea drinker, but I guess I am now. It wasn’t something I made time for until last year, when I was doing research for my healing, and I found this incredible anti-inflammatory tea recipe online. I tweaked it for my benefit, adding some raspberry leaf that is complementary to nettle and rich in minerals, along with rose hips that are high in vitamin C, and I noticed a difference immediately. Overnight actually. One day, I had fluid on my knees that wasn’t moving no matter what I did, and the next day, it was gone, and my knees were back to normal after 8 months.
the supplements: glutathione, NAC, and Vitamin C to help support my immune system and liver as it breaks down the pollutants and heavy metals I’m ingesting.
the binder and my steady betty: I’m religious about my ViRadChem Binder at night because it helps to pull out any heavy metals and other environmental toxins. I pair this with my favorite supplement for the last 10-plus years - Super Aloe 450. I think I need to write a whole entry on Super Aloe 450 because it changed my life, and I swear by it for my digestive system.
watch where you source the super aloe from, amazon has been known to list these as 4x the price.
the diet: I’m eating a ton of fresh fruits and adding extra cilantro to my simple arugula salad to help pull out heavy metals.
arugula, green onions, cilantro, cucumber, and my homemade dressing are always the base ingredients.
the water pill: on top of staying hydrated with mineral-rich water, I’m also drinking hydrogen water to neutralize free radicals and support my liver, inflammation, and cells. I loved this podcast with Gary Brecka and Alex Tarnova discussing studies and the benefits of hydrogen water.
the sauna and red light: since I can’t be outside to sweat, I have been spending more time in my portable therasage sauna with infrared light.
the mindset: Last year, during the park fire, I was really scared, surviving off of fight/flight responses, which, if I’m honest, contributed to my massive decline in health. This year, even though I’m closer to the green fire, I don’t feel scared; I feel prepared. I’m also tooled up with somatic exercises, affirmations, and breath work, etc., for regulating my nervous system.
It’s liberating and empowering to know that I have an escape plan if I need it, but I also choose to celebrate my days and be happy instead of being in survival mode and fear. I am also not a doctor, so please do your research if you decide this protocol sounds helpful to you.
lots of love,
